Let’s continue to explore the idea that the image of God that we are made in is, in fact, the Mind and not the body. That idea brings us pretty quick to the question of exactly what Mind we are talking about. The confusion comes about because by and large we do not understand the nature of our own Minds. Really, we worship this thinking machine that cleverly organizes information into categories and sub-categories, writes equations, and comes up with logical arguments as being our Minds. Is that really so? It’s amusing that articles and forum posts about anything of a more esoteric nature always brings the “scientists” out of the woodwork… or at least the people who view themselves as knowing what science is and isn’t. Yet, the esoteric body of knowledge extends back in history far beyond scientific knowledge, or at least the science of equations and measurements. The inner science goes back thousands and thousands of years to the ancient yogis of India and the mystery schools in Egypt. The funny thing is that the esoteric teaching pretty much universally say that the rational mind, the one we put on a pedestal, is actually not where the real action is. Instead, the real excitement comes when we begin to turn the incessant thinking machine off a little bit. More later.
