I saw a rather interesting chat on the TV. The idea was that the country had shifted so far to the right that Ronald Reagan could not successfully run as a Democrat. Why? Well, among other things he granted amnesty to illegal aliens and raised taxes multiple times. It’s really a sobering thought.
The same evening I saw a report about Monsanto and its self-destructive seeds that are less effective at germinating and when they do germinate, they consume far more than their share of water and nutrients.
It got me to thinking… all the world’s religions define good and evil. It may be best expressed in the New Testament
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, "You shall love your
neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:14 RSV)
But the basic idea is...
Good is putting people (even the ones you don't know) above stuff, ideas, and money. Evil is making people less important than stuff, ideas, and money. If you achieve success by helping other people that's good. If you achieve success at the expense of other people that's evil.
Apply those basic principles in your life and in your judgments about others and you will be making the world a better place.
