Vitalogy Day 2 - A really simple, easy, and fun exercise program

I learned a couple of interesting things so far. It really only takes about five minutes a day to learn the basic movements in VitalBody. So far I've learned shaking and rotation. Shaking is pretty much what it sounds like — shaking your body using random movements. The trick is to keep your body relaxed, then shake it. It really loosens up the joints. In the theory I learned that technology has really made us use our bodies in ways that it's not designed for. We are supposed to be moving instead of sitting in front of computers and TVs… and the non-movement begins to take over our lives as we get older and have more responsibilities. So, the bottom line is that you shake each part of your body to loosen it up. The second movement is rotation. As you'd expect this is rotating your body from side to side around a center axis. The key is rotating specific parts. For example, keeping the pelvis fixed while rotating the trunk, or rotating the neck without rotating the trunk. I'm going to learn the other two movements and have the basic mastery done in about 7 days. Then I just follow the 5 minute routines twice a day. This really is simple!

I can tell just in 2 days that the shaking and rotation really is producing results. I notice it in little things. For example, I just turned my neck to check cars coming from my left while I was driving. Usually, I turn my whole body. This is really cool.

More later…
