Enjoy a Better World has been clear about the potential harm that can be caused by electromagnetic radiation in general and cell phone radiation in particular. You can get research references in pdf form. Just click here.
You begin to really take this EMF stuff seriously when you see it for real on yourself. I recently participated in a little experiment. No, this was not a scientificly designed double blind study. It was just a little demo that made quite an impression. Here’s the picture. I was wearing a headband with a couple of electrodes on it that were attached to an electronic gizmo on the other end. This was probably measuring galvanic skin response, but it doesn’t really matter as far as the impression goes. The meter on the electronic device stabilized at a reading of about 70 units. Then I took a cell phone with a Amazing LightDisc Protect disc on it and placed a call. The meter shot up to about 240 units. Boom! Instantly the cell phone was causing something electrical to happen between the two electrodes touching my head. As soon as we stopped the call, within a few seconds the meter returned to the 70 reading.
Next we removed the Protect disc from the cell phone and placed another call. The meter shot up to 240 again right away. What was really interesting is that after we stopped the call and removed the cell phone, the meter dropped down to about 220 and then stayed there. It didn’t drop back to 70. According to the person doing the demo, the meter would stay high like that for a couple of hours.
As I said, this certainly isn’t a scientific study and it doesn’t really show anything other than the meter jumped up while a cell phone call was being placed. Whatever effect the cell EMF had, the effect persisted even after the cell phone was removed. Also putting a Protect disc on the phone essentially eliminated the post-call persistence. A video of this is in the works.
