Video A – The Basics of Chinese Medicine
Chinese Medicine has been around for thousands of years and has been continuously practiced and documented for 2,500 years. But it comes from a completely different point of view from Western Medicine. Instead of focusing on biology and chemistry, Chinese Medicine puts emphasis on the balance and harmony of the flow of energy in the body. Yet, despite this major departure from the medicine style of the West, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine are equally effective at treating disease.
Video B – Chakras and Meridians
Chinese Medicine describes the flow of energy in the body as being like the flow in energy rivers. They are called the 12 main meridians. There are also vessels for storing energy known as the 8 extraordinary meridians. Yet, Traditional Chinese Medicine does not work with the energy system of the chakras. The meridians, chakras, and main shushumna energy channel must be interconnected and treating any part impacts the whole.
